EHU’s Center for German Studies and Vilnius University’s (VU) Faculty of History present Colloquium Vilnense–the second series of interdisciplinary discussions with colleagues from Germany, Belarus, Lithuania, and other countries.
This semester, the discussions will focus on issues of memory and how social groups create visions of a common future and project them onto the past, creating interpretations of history, heritage, and memory.
The colloquium provides a forum for scholars from different backgrounds, cultures, and generations in which to broaden their understanding of the theoretical framework of their research.
The series of discussions is organized in partnership with VU’s Department of Museology, the Lithuanian Institute of History, EHU’s Laboratory for Critical Urbanism, and Laimikis.lt. It is supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
