On March 9 Deputy Chief of Mission of the United States Embassy Dr. Howard Solomon, accompanied by Counsellor Mr. Ted Janis paid a visit to the European Humanities University (EHU) in Vilnius.
President Prof. Anatoli Mikhailov and Acting Rector Jørgen Jørgensen welcomed Dr. Solomon on behalf of the University community and expressed gratitude for the long-standing support of the United States’ Government and foundations to EHU. University leadership presented the status of EHU development, particularly in the area of implementation of the liberal arts tradition in cooperation with the NY-based Bard College. Additionally, Acting Rector Jørgensen informed Dr. Solomon regarding the status of EHU preparations for the Donors Conference, International Search for the new Rector and further enhancement of operations.
After the meeting Deputy Chief of Mission Dr. Solomon said: “Interesting meeting with President Anatoli Mikhailov and Acting Rector Jørgen Jørgensen, learning more about EHU and looking forward to seeing the new campus.”
