EHU Governing Board convened a meeting in Vilnius

On July 6-7 European Humanities University (EHU) Governing Board (GB) met in Vilnius to examine the latest EHU developments, and to discuss future prospects of EHU enhancement.

EHU Governing Board endorsed the successful implementation of the decisions of the previous GB meeting, related to the need to reorganize EHU academic and administrative structure. As the result, Academic Department of Social Sciences and Academic Department of Humanities and Arts were established. EHU has completed the internal contest for heads of newly established academic departments, who met with EHU GB members and presented their vision of the further development of the departments, new programs, research and interdisciplinary initiatives. EHU GB also approved new University structure, according to which EHU becomes more compact and efficient.

Following the structural reforms within the University and the abolishment of the University Council, EHU GB endorsed several amendments to the EHU Statutes and a few accompanying documents. The decision was submitted for approval to the EHU General Assembly of Part-Owners (GAPO).

One of the main decisions was to elect the former Vice President of the European Investment Bank Ms. Eva Srejber as the Vice Chair of the EHU Governing Board. Her extensive experience in the field of financial management is of great importance for the future strategic management of the University.

Besides, EHU Governing Board took notice of the AY 2016/17 budget implementation report and approved EHU budget for the AY 2017/18.

EHU GB held a discussion regarding the future format of the EHU GAPO, particularly, how to ensure a wider representation of University’s donors within its superior governing body. EHU GB members took notice on the EHU 25th Anniversary commemoration and reviewed EHU self-evaluation draft as a part of the upcoming University’s institutional accreditation.

On July 7 Governing Board members took part in the EHU Graduation ceremony in Vilnius.
